Beauty in a Broken World: A Retreat for Women

November 16-17, 2018

Our time together will call attention to the ways that we are surrounded by both beauty and brokenness and the lessons that we can learn from this juxtaposition. Our morning session, facilitated by Marie Fleisner, will allow time for storytelling in the framework of praying with beadwork.

Our afternoon session, facilitated by Sr. Jolynn Brehm, FSPA, will allow time for quiet reflection on seed pods and conversation about the way that beauty and brokenness in the natural world work together to strengthen hope.

This one-night retreat will begin with Friday supper at 6:30 p.m. and will conclude by 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cost of $95 includes overnight accommodations, delicious buffet meals and program fees.

Sister Jolynn Brehm, FSPA, is a Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration. Her background includes elementary and secondary educator, pastoral associate, co-founder and director of the Marywood Spirituality Center in Arbor Vitae. She has been a retreat director and spiritual director since 1989 and began offering preached retreats in 2005 at retreat centers and for communities of Sisters throughout the Midwest. She joined St. Anthony Spirituality Center as spiritual leader in July 2015. Her special interests include delving into Scripture, all things Franciscan, and exploring the connections of nature and creation with our lives.
