Contemplative Photography Weekend Retreat

July 14-16, 2017  |  Cost: $185 (Commuter: $100)

This semi-silent retreat is offered for beginning to advanced photographers. Only a simple digital camera is needed.

The retreat explores traditional and contemporary contemplative practices, insights and perceptions, emphasizing the Christian spiritual experience. These practices may be wellsprings for engendering a personal aesthetic in the photographic medium and also relate to many other ways of our individually being with God while being in the world. Participants are invited to journey on a path toward the “still center” within, seeking new awareness, authenticity and creative expression.

St. Anthony’s and its surrounding landscape offer a rich environment for the mingling of photography and contemplation.

Presented by enthusiastic photographer Chuck Shaffer of Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin.

This retreat begins with Friday supper at 6:30 p.m. and concludes with the noon meal on Sunday. Cost includes overnight accommodations, delicious buffet meals, and program fees.
