“Every Life counts: from the beginning to the end, from conception to natural death.”  Pope Francis, on January 19, 2018 posted this on Twitter.  Today, January 22, is the Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children.  According to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB)  “In all the Dioceses of the United States of America, January 22 shall be observed as a particular day of prayer for the full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life and of penance for violations to the dignity of the human person committed through acts of abortion.”

Life is precious.  All life is precious from the beginning, conception, to the natural end.  In 2020 all life did not seem to matter to some people.  It was about much more than abortion, it was that “Black Lives Matter”, “Police Lives Matter” and the lives of those with the Coronavirus to receive treatment that matter.  The statement from Pope Francis brought a wider meaning to me.  All life matters from conception to natural death.  We are all children of God and we are supposed to love everyone no matter what stage of life they are at, what race they are, what they believe or do not believe, even if it is not the same as what we believe or don’t believe.

When you pray for the legal protection of the unborn children remember also in your prayers for those who are poor, who need food, shelter, work, the disabled, the vulnerable infirm and elderly exposed to covert euthanasia, the victims of human trafficking, the migrants and refugees, and human dignity.

What about those who do not look like you or believe in different things then you?  Does their life not matter?  To me all life matters and that is what a full Pro-Life person believes and fights for.

Life is Precious

Someone finds out that they are expecting a baby

The emotions begin to rise up

Joy for those who feel blessed to have a family

Concern for those who did not plan

God has given joy to those who hold their baby in their arms

God is with those whose life did not fully come to those waiting

Life goes in many directions

All life matters not just for a few select ones

For those who are not able to speak for themselves

For the unborn, the disabled and elderly

For those that cannot breath, those whose end of life is determined by someone else

Life is from conception to natural death

Life is precious
