Most mornings I sit in quiet contemplation and look out the window at the birch trees. I admire the things they bring to my attention. There are so many teaching moments in my life if I’m open and willing to receive. The birch seems willing to bend with the winds of time.

This particular day it was like they were dancing. It was joyful to watch and relate. There seems to be no struggle with how they bend and move in relationship with the wind. They are even willing to shed their outer bark and make some small sacrifices in their shedding of branches and leaves. They remind me that in life I too have to make sacrifices and be willing to bend and flow with the changing winds of life.

Great spirit of the wind of life, I turn myself over to you so that you might bend and nurture my relationship with all living things.
