October Serenity Retreat for Recovering Alcoholics
Theme “Emotional Sobriety”
October 6-8, 2017 | Cost: $185
We want to find our authentic self and achieve a fulfilling sober life. This can’t be accomplished without working on our emotional sobriety.
Emotional sobriety enables one to live an alcohol/substance free life that is productive and satisfying. Following physical sobriety, an emotional balance means accepting reality as it is today, in the moment, without masking life with mind-altering chemicals.
This retreat will explore concepts of emotional sobriety, as it can have a slightly different meaning to each person: How do I cope with my emotions? Do I allow myself to maturely feel my emotions? Do I dwell on regrets or unreasonable wishes?
At St. Anthony’s, you will be in a recovery community of different people with a common thread of similar experiences, yet a variety of experiences and outlooks. Emotional growth, like spiritual growth, is on-going. Ask yourself, “Am I emotionally sober and exactly how does one become emotionally sober?” Gift yourself the opportunity to construct and maintain a healthy growth in recovery by gaining insights into emotional sobriety.
First time retreatants to St. Anthony’s can attend this retreat for half price! (Phone registration only for discount; Limited to five special rates per retreat weekend.)
This retreat will begin with Friday evening check-in at 5:30 p.m. followed by supper at 6:30 p.m. It will conclude with the noon meal on Sunday. Cost includes six delicious buffet meals and overnight accommodations.
