(Editor’s Note: Last fall, we offered a retreat titled “Drawing Closer to the Holy”. As a closing prayer, the participants were asked to share a few words about their retreat experience. Their thoughts were woven into the following meditation.)
It is time to
make my life count
to find peace.
Not to get lost in the shuffle of life
to be true to who we were created to be
to have eyes to see, ears to hear, heart to feel
Good because I am, worthy because I exist, lovable because I love
It was a difficult time for me
fear builds a barrier to God
so do I really know what a prayer is.
Take a breath
this moment, my only reality
leave the past, come to the table, be the Light
to believe in the unknowable
to have my heart awaken!!
