Sometimes we need to step away from the noise-noise between our ears and noises from outside ourselves. Going within and getting quiet can look different for each of us. Just slowing down sometimes can get us ready to listen to our hearts or be prayerful. It can mean slowing down our number of daily activities so we can be more present in those that matter. It can mean saying no to that party for a more meaningful evening with a friend that fills our cup. Going for a walk in nature or taking a bike ride can quiet the noise and clear the clutter. What I really need to nourish myself and to bring peace is not found in the “shoulds” and “doings “ that the world often asks of us. It’s a quieter, gentle and loving, inner voice that asks to listen, surrender and be open. Often, when I get quiet and listen, blessings and goodness usually follow in beautiful unexpected ways.
